I bought this for my grandmother to use while she watched TV and my grandfather slept. She didn’t like it very much at all. She said it did make the TV louder but it also made my grandfaher’s snoring louder, crumpling of sheets louder and passing cars louder. All of the different noises were to distracting and she was unable to enjoy her program.

The “Listen Up” device is excellent. I purchased several. I plan to make a gift for a friend with one and I gave two to my mother-in-law. We were to attend a women’s conference and I knew she was having trouble keeping a battery in one of her hearing aids and would not wear it. This device takes a AAA battery (included with the product) and works well with the TV or in a crowd. I knew we would have a great event when I could speak quietly in the car (where I usually had to yell to get her to hear and understand me) and she said she heard everything well during the conference. She has one to use at home with the TV or when she has guests and one to carry with her at all times. Wonderful product but I had to go on-line to find it.

I bought this for my mom who was in the nursing home..she loved her tv but had to have it so loud it was bothering the other people in and around her room..but this product did the trick..she could not only hear her tv better but she could hear people talking to her better and she was deaf in one ear and could barely hear out of the other..i would definantly recomend this product for those with hearing problems..

We had high hopes that this would assist my husband’s hearing… it helps just a little but not as much as we’d hoped for. I would not recommend it. Also, we thought we were getting the one that looks like a phone in the ear.. but maybe I goofed or we got baited and switched…

For the money this product does what it says it can do. My husband had to get used to the static sound whenever he’d move, but it amplified voices so he could hear better. Well worth the money.

I bought Listen Up sound amplfier because I live in an apartment, and I don’t want to disturb other tennants late at night. It works as far as making the TV sound louder in your ears. I can hear on volume level 3. My volume level goes up to 100. In the future, I hope they perfect this product, because if you move around it leaves a loud and obnoxious sound in your ears.
It only works for old people

When I bought this item I tought I could listen far away sounds or conversation but it only amplifies around oneself sounds, so it only works for elderly people, for young people it causes headache.

The 2 hearing devices are worse than nothing, and I am sorry I fell for the ad. There is all kinds of background noise, in a quiet room. They are in a drawer and willremind me to save my money buying online !
If you can hear don’t buy this and if your deaf like me forget it!

It was ok if I aimed it at the tv or sat on to top of it. I could hear all the noises that were loud but became booming.
On average my hearing aid worked better. Don’t buy this. Especially don’t gift it to someone, that is how I got it.

it doesn’t works as i wanted or I supposed it was gonna do it……you hear the noise of the emviroment but you can not listen for you children’s voices exactly in a distance of 5 meters, you only listen if they speak loud.

this is a great product for a good price. U can really hear so many feet away even whats behind u. I got a severe hearing loss and i hear great with this product. I love it so much im being another one. Its cheaper then buying look alike hearing aides that break or even buying hearing aides that cost a thousand dollars for one aide. this is under 20 bucks and u really can hear everything. thanx for a great product.

Saw the ad on TV and decided to buy it and it was not what I expected. It does not amplify any sounds. Waste of my time and money. And on top of that, I bought two. DO NOT PURCHASE!!!

The listen up devise was not at all what I was hoping for. I bought it for my dad who likes to watch tv really loud on Saturdays. He is not elderly he just works around loud machines for 25 years and his hearing is not up to par. On the weekends the tv is so loud that rest of the house can’t sleep I bought the listen up in hopes to have a better night sleep. He hates it. I even tried it and and all I can hear is my own breathing intensified. the tv sounds muffled and any nose that should occur near the devise like you moving is screeched in your ears. I can hear the remote clicking better than what the people on tv are saying. If you eat or drink anything it hurts your ears. I think I almost lost my hearing from that stupid thing… good thing it only cost like 11 bucks! Maybe the new ones work better but I doubt it.. I would advise you to not buy this product.

I purchased this item for my Mom to use to watch TV. It works great! She can now have the TV turned down low enough to not disturb anyone else, yet the Listen Up device allows her to hear. We have been very pleased. It does whistle at times, but she can simply turn the volume down and it stops. We are happy with the purchase.

friend got this for me at walmart
first a note, im a young man with good hearing, this was not a replacement for a hearing aid this was due to being a college student and sitting at the back of the class having to watch tv’s with horribly low sound volume.
pros: It does amplify sound
Cons: it amplifys all sound, like most of the other reviews stated, if you in any way touch it or move it it makes loud noises, same with background noise like wind. horrible to use to listen to nature. luckly i have the receipt and can return it. it works i guess but not all that great. id say save your money or search online for a similar product that is better quality and function

Amplifies EVERYTHING, including background noise. Also unless held totally still, amplifies sounds of touching the unit (static) and any slight air movements (whoosh). (Can’t have fans in room, can’t have open doors to outside, can’t have any one even walk by, or you cannot hear.)

This is a great product if you are watching t.v. in bed with a sleeping spouse and need the volume low so as not to disturb them, like in the product picture. But if you are in a room with other noises around everything is amplified and nothing comes through clearly. Will not let you eavesdrop on conversations in crowded settlings with lots of noises all around. But if you need something to raise up the volume on a single sound source in an otherwise quiet place this could work for you.

Wow this thing is awesomely powerful. Im serious. The commercial is right! If I put these in when watching the TV, I can really hear the TV! Its super sensitive! Its kinda annoying at times. Like when Im trying to sleep, and my wife wakes up in the middle of the night and has to use the lil girls room and I hear every puff of angryness echoing throughout the toilet bowl. Be warned, its scary, but I heard the heart beat of my unborn child inside my wifes tummy! I havent even thougth of going near that area of her since I met her! Its like I can hear into the future.

The bluetooth version of this sucks, and this version sucks too. All u hear is static and something like the ocean. sounds more like an echoe rather than a actual voice. When u turn up the volume, it gets even worse! the static drowns out the actual voice. DO NOT buy this unless if u want to go through the hassle of returning it.

I bought this for my mom because shes hard of hearing and loves to watch tv very loudly..at home its not a problem because i can just shut her door , but shes been in the hospital alot and gets a semi private room alot and this works very well to help her hear the tv and not disturb the other patient..

This device works wonders if you are trying to hear yourself sing clearly. It works pretty good if you are trying to hear your baby in the other room. However, it can pick up a lot of loud traffic sounds that can become annoying after a few minutes.

We used this with someone who is almost deaf, and also mentally challenged. She used to break her expensive hearing aids all the time, and could not operate the aids without help. This unit, but only in combination with a sensitive pair of isolating earphones (creative EP-640) works better than anything we tried so far, and all for around 50 bucks total. Beats her $500 hearing aid hands down. Earphone selection and fit is critical, we had to try several before finding one that worked. A plus is we can use a rechargeable AAA battery; we use a several rechargeable batteries and a charger.
